Originally built in 1977 as a Gulfstar 50 Sloop... but later she was professionally modified to become a Gulfstar 55 foot Yawl. She has recently been upgraded for your cruising comfort. Below decks she has been fitted out with elegant and stylish mahogany and includes all of the modern facilities. She boasts two luxury double cabins for guests ~ one forward and one aft ~ plus a separate captain's cabin midships. Each cabin comes with a private bathroom ~ what we sailors call a head ~ complete with sink, vanity and shower. The galley is outfitted with freezer, refrigerator, stove, oven and double sinks. The cockpit is roomy enough to stretch out in and to sail in comfort. The aft deck makes a great sun deck! An easy to board ladder makes it a snap to swim right off the yacht. Gulfstar began production in 1971 in St. Petersburg, Florida, with a series of popularly priced and well-received motorsailers and trawlers. One of the few firms to build both sail and powerboats, the Gulfstar line expanded dramatically over the years, and the company became one of the leading yacht manufacturers of the 1970s and 1980s. Gulfstar entered the modern motor yacht market in 1981 with the introduction of the Gulfstar 48 MY. Responding to the decline in sailboat demand, Gulfstar ended production of its sailing models in the mid 1980s and concentrated on its line of motor yachts. In 1987 the company introduced the widely acclaimed Gulfstar 55 MY ~ a high-tech, high-performance design that confirmed Gulfstar’s position as an industry leader in motor yacht production. Gulfstar was acquired by Viking Yachts in 1987. Have additional questions? Contact Us Today!
