The Gulfstar 41... is a heavy boat with a displacement of about 23,000 lbs, a beam of 12 feet, a LWL of 33 feet, and draft 5 feet with a nice encapsulated keel (not bolt-on). The engine is the well-known Perkins 4-108 which develops 41-50 hp depending on the source of information. If you care for these Perkins marine diesel engines carefully then I personally would not worry about their age and this one has a lot of life left in her! There's no problem with spare parts either as companies still make them since the engine was so popular. Basically a solid, strong boat which is extremely comfortable. The boat handles well, ventilation is great as you would expect in a boat built in Clearwater, Florida! The aft cabin especially is great. Her owner has just had her Borg Warner transmission rebuilt and will be installing that for the coming cruising season. He will install that sooner, of course, if the yacht has a new owner. Her sails are in fine condition. Her engine starts and runs perfectly. She has been freshly painted and looks great. The Center Cockpit model, like this one, are always in demand for the comfort and security provided by this arrangement. The aft cabin is customized with a king sized bed. How nice!
