The flagship of the Cape Dory line is the 36. This fine yacht was designed by from the keel up by Carl Alberg to provide the maximum combination of both comfort and performance in a yacht of this size. The standard 36 is cutter rigged and is powered by a Perkins four cylinder fresh water cooled diesel auxiliary. She has 6 berths, carries 132 gallons of water, 43 gallons of diesel, and is a true blue water cruiser. Despite the emphasis on ocean cruising capabilities assuring her ability to stand up in a blow, beat to windward or track effortlessly on long downwind runs, the Cape Dory 36 is not intended soley as a single purpose, long distance, passage making yacht. While powerfully built and heavily rigged for offshore work, she was designed to be equally well suited for the gentle breezes of an afternoon sail or weekend cruise. The cutter rig with ample sheet and halyard winches, jiffy reefing gear and self tending, boomed staysail, make her easy single or short handed. Husband and wife crews will particularly appreciate the double head sail rig which offer a variety of sail changes and shorting options. Her interior layout is extremely comfortable and her joinery is Cape Dory's finest. With Carl Alberg as the designer and Cape Dory as the builder, what else could be better? Solid construction, wonderfull sailing characterics, high resale value and eye pleasing lines are just a few things that all Cape Dory owners brag about. KINSHIP has been a fresh water boat until 2003. She has always been well cared for, never neglected and certainly ready to cruise. She comes fully equipped and completely ready to go to sea. Truly affordable comfort and real luxury... This aft cockpit design is typical Carl Alberg and is roomy and very comfortable. The Edson pedestal and wheel steering assembly with the large destroyer type wheel make handling this yacht a breeze. Excellent all around vision from this cockpit. This yacht also sports double lifelines all around with a gate on both the port and starboard sides. The ventilated propane locker is rail mounted at the extreme aft of the yacht. The compass is mounted directly in front of the helmsman and a convenient drink holder is just forward of the pedestal steering. The engine controls are handy as well. She is a tremendous seaworthy yacht. And beautiful as well. Start your Caribbean Cruise from here! Have some additional questions? Contact Us Today!

This fine prestige yacht is fully equipped... Shown here is her very conveniently located Galley just at the foot of the companionway stairs. Well equipped with plenty of counter space and lots of storage. Properly lit and well ventilated. Under the removable counter top is the Princess propane stove and oven. Deep stainless steel sink for ease at sea.
Ultra Luxurious yacht... Looking forward on the port side of the yacht you can see the settee complete with summer covers. As well please take note of the exquisite joinery work exhibited throughout this fine yacht. The dining table conveniently folds up out of the way. Plenty of storage space provided in this well designed Cape Dory. Hot and cold pressure water as well! She is fully equipped and ready to explore the Caribbean.

Tastefully appointed interior... Presented here in her interior photos you will see her starboard side settee which is presented in her summer cushion covers. She also has a complete set of winter cushion covers! Notice the abundance of lockers and storage provided throughout the yacht. Carl Alberg really did a superb job on his design of this one!
For those who can afford the very best... You will notice that in one of the numerous Slideshow Photos I was standing forward on the deck looking aft and you can clearly see the stainless steel cowls on the dorade boxes! Two opening Bomar hatches for light, safety and ventilation. The canvas, with the exception of the dodger, is new. The owner is planning to renew the dodger as well. Well laid out deck with lots of non-skid areas. Very solid. The Caribbean Sea is there waiting for you and your family and this is the yacht to carry you in safety and style to all of the exotic Islands. Spoil yourself... Contact Us Today!

| From the Cape Dory 36 owner's manual: The basic hull design of Cape Dory yachts is a traditional one which has proven itself over many years of use and thousands of miles of cruising. The long keel with attached rudder hull configuration combined with a generous but not bulbous beam provides stiffness and longitudinal stability; it also provides protection for the rudder, propeller and propeller shaft. Our sail plans are not as lofty as those used on more race oriented designs of similar size. Instead of high aspect ration main sails, Cape Dory has continued with what it considers to be a more sensible cruising plan. This means that a smaller head sail is needed, that a family or limited crew can handle a Cape Dory and that stresses on the rig and boat are less than those on high aspect ratio rigged boats under similar conditions. The interior layouts of Cape Dory yachts are designed to provide comfortable accomodations for a reasonably sized crew on boats of their size. The Caribbean Sea is there waiting for you and your family and this is the yacht to carry you in safety and style to all of the exotic Islands. Contact Us! |
