One of a kind... from a prestigious American designer and a renowned Turkish Shipyard. Naval Architect Dudley Dix from Virginia in the United States was the designer of FLEUR and she was constructed at the IBC Shipyard in Bodrum Turkey to extremely high standards. This is the only Cutter Rigged sailing yacht ever produced to a Dix design. She sails well and momentarily achieved a speed of 14.7 knots under Genoa alone during a passage from the Canary Islands to St Lucia in August of 2008. SY Fleur is outfitted with twin Yanmar 75hp marine diesel engines and has dual props and shaft running gear. This is truly a unique yacht and with twin engines and bow thruster she is truly a breeze to maneuver. "I was deeply involved in sailing management for a few years, serving for many years on the sailing committee of Hout Bay Yacht Club and on regional and national committees of the Cruising Asociation of South Africa and South African Sailing. The last 2 years of this period I was Chairman of CASA and on the Council of SAS. In January 2004 we moved from South Africa to USA. We now live in Virginia Beach, on the Southern side of the mouth of Chesapeake Bay and part of the Hampton Roads area. Our home is on the side of a small lake. Here I continue to sail my Paper Jet skiff on local waters and surf the beaches of the mid-Atlantic states."

Aft we have the owner's double statetoom with a private head, sink and separate shower all finished off in beautiful solid teak. There is plenty of hanging wardrobe space. Also we have a large separate cupboard with shelving plus two bedside cabinets. A 32" wall mount television is included as well as a double settee to Port.
The Galley is "L" shaped with a gimbaled gas range, double sinks, large fridge and a large separate freezer. There is plenty of cupboard space and storage plus the owner has included a complete set of cooking pots, pans and utensils! A six place dining service complete with all cutlery stays with the yacht. The galley has a large preparation surface. This yacht is ready for your pleasure!
To Starboard we have a double size Quarter Berth complete with it's own en suite head, sink and separate shower. As well in this area we have cupboards, hanging lockers and shelving.
Featured in the large Saloon we have a 3/4 circle Banquette with a beautiful oval shaped teak table and separate twin seat settee to Port. Under the seating we find plenty of lockers and storage space. There are large cupboards all around with wicker front doors to promote good air flow. We also find here a 28" wall mounted television. A lot of design expertise went into the construction of this fine yacht.
Forward of the main Saloon we have two cabins with each having large twin bunks. Each cabin also has hanging lockers and shelving plus plenty of storage. These two cabins share one head with wash basin and separate shower. Once again finished in exquisite solid teak.
Well forward is the very large warp and fender locker. Housed here as well is the Bow Thruster motor.
The Pilot House is configured with a Navigation Station to Port built around a large teak Chart Table. There are plenty of drawers and a binocular pocket. A tremendous navigational feature is the 15" Raymarine Series "E" Chart Readout Screen with Knot Meter, Wind Speed and course indicator complete with a joystick steering control. On the Starboard side we have a "U" shaped Banquette with an oval shaped, teak, fully adjustable table and a large separate locker for safety equipment such as flares and lifejackets. This locker has a teak top.
The Pilot House, decks and cockpit are all laid with Teak.
The very well laid out cocpit features a full set of two inch cockpit cushions. A wonderful feature here in the cockpit is that all of the functions of the Raymarine Series "E" Navigation System are repeated right at the steering pedestal together with the tachometers for each of the twin Yanmar 75hp diesel Engines. It does not get any better! The Captain' s seat on top of the Lazarette is also finished in teak decking. Teak steps at the rear of the cockpit lead down to the three foot swim platform, also finished with teak decking and sporting a hot and cold shower. The cockpit can be shaded with a blue canvas Bimini complete with a folding frame. This yacht is awesome!
Aft we have extra strong stainless steel Dinghy Davits which are topped with a twin solar panel charging unit to keep the batteries happy. To Port can be found a large wind generator and to Starboard a teak Jack Staff.
On the deck forward of the Pilot House is mounted an eight man life raft. Well forward in the locker are two 45 Kg anchors complete with chain. An electric anchor windlass with remote control in the cockpit makes ground tackle handling a simple task. All of the main sheet winches are high quality Harken Electric Winches and all sheets are made by Liras products. This yacht is a snap to singlehand.
This extraordinary yacht has been fitted with two Yanmar 75 hp Marine Diesel Engines plus a Bow Thruster for complete ease of docking and maneuvering in tight conditions. As well she has been outfitted with two high quality generators. One is a Fischer Panda 9 Kw and the other an Onan 11 Kw model. We have a 50 Litre per hour watermaker, 800 Litre stainless steel diesel tanks and twin Propane tanks in their own separate vented compartment. The engines are accessed from a hatch in the floor of the Pilot House and also through a hatch under the companionway stairs from the main Saloon.

The Genoa is masthead mounted and the storm jib is 3/4 rigged. Both of these sails are roller furling. The mainsail is full rigged complete with Lazy Jacks and a canvas cover.
The keel stepped mast rizes approximately eight feet from the deck. This is a three spreader rig.
